Andrew's check up

So, on Thursday (Jan. 29) we went to the Dr. for his four month check up. He was four and a half months by then, but here are his stats:

weight: 13 pounds, 11 ounces - 25%
height: 24 3/4 inches - 40%
head: 17 inches - 75%

The Dr. scheduled an x-ray for Andrew's head. It has a big flat spot on the side and we just want to make sure everything is ok. We also think he might have slight Torticollis and may need some physical therapy. This may explain why he hates tummy time so much. I'll let you know how it all works out.

This is a good example of how Andrew handles tummy time. If he isn't face down screaming, he's just sucking on his hand with his head to the side.

Happy Birthday Ryan!

Ryan's birthday was on January 14. He turned the big 2-8! Ryan's mom was in town and this was the first time she was able to celebrate his birthday in 10 years! We had a couple friends over the day before his birthday for cake and ice cream. On his birthday, Ryan had a cub scout meeting (he's a cub scout leader) and we went to bed early that night (the night before was a hard one with Andrew). Ryan, his mom, and I went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner the weekend after his birthday to celebrate. I think my favorite meal ever is one of the chicken dishes there. Plus the chocolate cake! (Um, ya, I don't like cheesecake...) We had a lovely time and we are glad Ryan's mom was able to share with us.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYAN! WE LOVE YOU!

New Years

Ok, so I'm a little behind. At least I'm in 2009 now. Here are some pictures from New Years Eve. We went to our friends house and played games and lit sparklers. We went home around 11:30 because we didn't want to be driving with all the crazys. The people in our neighborhood lit their own fireworks and so we had our own personal show. We could see them from our living room, bedroom, loft, upstairs bedrooms...pretty much anywhere. Ryan didn't even want to stay awake for midnight, but I made him. We watched the ball drop and enjoyed very loud and large fireworks from our windows. (They were so close that it was too loud to go outside). And I'm talking big fireworks. We had a lot of fun welcoming in the New Year. 2008 was very good to us. We hope 2009 brings many good things to us all. Happy (late) New Year!
Andrew didn't even care.

On the way to our friend's house.
(This was taken at another time, but it's my new favorite...I'm sure you'll see it again.) He loves his Dino (thanks Ashley).

Chess

Ryan loves to play chess. Ryan and his friend Dan play chess when they can and they decided Andrew should learn too. Never too early I guess...
