September 2011 - The Final Post, hopefully.

Well, September was so long ago, let's see what I can remember. We started a babysitting swap around then. There are four families, each with 2 kids, and we take turns watching all the kids on Friday nights. That way we get 3 Fridays a month to go on a date, hang out with other friends or get stuff done with out the kids. Then once a month we have a full house of boys and Bailey. (Bailey is the only girl). It usually goes pretty well. It gets a little hard around bedtime when we put 5 of the 8 kids down for bed. It's also a fun "game" trying to figure out who is going to sleep where. The swap goes from 6pm to 10pm. We usually just let Andrew stay up. Bailey has had a few tough nights, but she's getting better.

Bailey had her 6 month check up. Here are her stats:
September 8, 2011.
Weight: 14 lbs 9.5 oz (25%)
Height: 26.5 in (75%)
Head: 26.5 cm (50%)

So we've got a tall slender girl, with an average head. I'll take it. :)

Bailey got shots that time, and she was old enough to look at me with those "How could you let them to this to me????" eyes. It was really really sad.

Oh, Bailey started eating purees. She started out with some rice cereal for a few weeks then graduated to real food. I made all her baby food, which I actually enjoyed doing and it was much cheaper. She had carrots, green beans, sweet potato and peas in September. She didn't love any of them, but she ate them.

Bailey started crawling on September 19! (Well, it was more like scooting on her stomach, but that's how crawling starts right?) She was 6 months old, much younger than Andrew. She just wants to play with him and follow him around. She finally made forward progress this day! Good job Bailey!

Ryan has been traveling more with work and this month he went to Tulsa for 3 days. Then he was home for a day, and then left for Utah for 3 days. Then he was supposed to leave the same day he got back and go to Kuwait for a whole week. That trip got canceled last minute (thank goodness).

Andrew had his birthday and is now a big 3 year old. He had his 3 year check up. Here are his stats:
September 23, 2011
Weight: 31 lbs (50%)
Height 38.5 in (75%)
They don't do head anymore. So he's also a tall slender boy. At least we're consistent with our kids. :)

I think that's about it. Here are the rest of the photos from September.

Bailey can now sit up know will minimal help. This is her cheesy smile. It's funny that she is already doing the fake smile for me.

This is her real smile.

Her tummy time is great!

Bailey and Mommy :) I don't think we look alike at all.
Bailey loves Andrew. I was trying to feed her and all she wanted to do was watch Andrew. I tried turning her around, but then she did this and it was even harder to feed her. :)

Bailey is such a silly girl.
Andrew started "playing games" while Bailey sleeps. He loves Mouse trap and wanted to wear his Mickey Mouse ears while he played. He does a pretty good job setting up the game.

Andrew has been doing well with his letters and words. He's starting to read words out of books.

When Ryan comes home after work the first thing he does (after hugs and kisses) is goes to his closet to change. Andrew has been following him and picking out clothes for him to wear. Lately he's wanted Ryan to match him. He runs out and says, "Look Mommy! We match!" There will be more photos of this to come I'm sure.

So, one day I saw a large shadow pass over our windows and looked outside and saw this bird hanging out in our back yard. It was actually pretty neat. It didn't stay long and took off and landed on the tip top of our neighbors roof. It looked really odd up there.

I miss the moments when Bailey would just fall asleep. She is so super duper cute!

We went to our friends house to watch a BYU game and all got dressed up.
One of my favorite family photos.

The end ;)

September 2011 - Costumes Already???

Ryan went to Provo UT to a BYU game in September and brought Andrew back a Cosmo costume! (The BYU mascot is Cosmo the Cougar). Andrew LOVED it! He put it on and had so much fun. Although it was still hot, he wore this cute little costume around for a while.

Look at the cute little face on the hood!
I didn't know Ryan was getting him a costume, so I had purchased a frog costume while Ryan was in Utah. I think this frog costume is super cute. I love the eyes and the feet!
We asked Andrew if he remembered what he was for Halloween the year before. I can't remember if he told us he was Mickey or if we reminded him, but he quickly ran off to get his Mickey ears. :)

Andrew usually doesn't get dressed up or play along with us so this was fun to see him relax and hop around like a frog. :)

September 2011 - Sibling Play Time

Here are some photos of the kiddos playing together in September.

Andrew like to have Bailey sit right next to him when he eats. Here they are holding hands (How stinkin' cute!!)

(**since I am posting this a few months later, I now know that this will not last, so I enjoy these photos)

We got some fire hats for Andrew and they have quickly become a fun toy. We have a black, red and two yellow ones so there is plenty to share. Bailey didn't leave it on too long, but looked super cute while it was on.

Andrew likes to wear it backwards, like a baseball hat.

Floor play time.
Bailey has started to discover new and exciting toys. Andrew wanted to drive with her. What a good big brother.

September 7, 2011.

Just a little post of the kiddos. They play together so often and (usually) very well. Bailey loves Andrew so so so so so much. He can make her laugh more than anybody else and by doing something so silly. Andrew doesn't quite realize how strong his is or how heavy his head is. (He likes to lean on her).

Although intentions are usually good, someone gets hurt by the end.

September 2011 - Hair Stylist

September 5, 2011

I just wanted to journal a fun afternoon we had. Andrew likes to carry around this yellow spray bottle of water and "help" me. He helps me spray on to the laundry, and lately he has decided he wants to do his own hair. He's only allowed to spray it on certain things, and I decided to pick my battles. Water on hair is ok. :)

So he became a hair stylist for a day.

I love this photo.

It reminds me of this one from when he was 9 months old.

I'm gonna get you!

Dimples!

"My gorilla is thirsty".

Andrew styled Bailey's hair too.

Anytime you want your hair done, Andrew is always willing to help. He only has one style though. Spiky. :)

September 2011 - Andrew's Birthday

Ryan was out of town for business on Andrew's actual birthday, so we celebrated when he got home. This was exceptionally hard for me since I LOVE birthdays! I taught preschool on his birthday and wanted to do a birthday party with his buddies, but Ryan wanted me to wait. I had been telling Andrew that his birthday was when we had preschool, so he kept asking if it was his birthday. I couldn't lie to him, so I told him yes, but didn't make too big a deal about it. (as much as I wanted too though)

So when Ryan came home, we made cupcakes and had some friends over for cupcakes.

Andrew poured the mix in the bowl and wanted to know what it tasted like.

Finger lickin' good.

I usually don't take the time to let Andrew help me, but I wanted to let Andrew have some fun for his birthday. This is one of those moments that I loved. I am grateful that I took the time to teach him and play with him. I explained that we needed to mix certain things together in order to make a batter. We added 3 eggs, some milk and oil. We talked about that, he counted the eggs, poured in the eggs and other ingredients.

He was a very good helper.
Here are a few videos from Andrew's birthday.

Sing Happy Birthday to Andrew

Andrew wrote Happy Birthday on the dry erase board. We thought that was pretty cute. The photos are a little hard to see. The funny thing was when Ryan was telling him what letters to write, he forgot the r in birthday, so Ryan wrote that one in afterwards. :) Otherwise, not a bad job Andrew! Happy Birthday Little Man. We love you!
