May 2014 - Misc part 2

Here are some random photos from May 2014.

Enjoy!

The Mustang Twins!

Organized cars by color.

Bailey loves dancing and will dance at any time. I love when she spontaneously starts dancing.

Mach 1 Mustang. (This is for you, Dad)

Andrew giving Mommy a flower. (Melts my heart!)

Our crazy sleeper.

Bailey took this photo of Ryan and Andrew.

Organizing shoes.

The kids went to a place called Pump It Up. It has a bunch of room that are full of inflatable obsticle courses, slides, basketball courts, mazes etc. The kids love playing there with friends. This video shows some of the cool things the kids did.

One thing I love about living here in Houston is how green it is and that we have some chances to see fun things around us. We've seen deer and bunnies on numerous occasions driving through our neighborhood. On this day we saw a beautiful white bird. I'm not sure what kind of bird it was, maybe a heron, but it was nice to stop and show Bailey and my parents.
Here's a quick video of the bird we observed.

May 2014 - Misc part 1

Some fun things happened in May of 2014. It was so nice to have my parents here! I sure do love those two.

Look at these two crazies!

Grandma and Bailey on the carousel.

I love making my mom laugh!

Bailey blowing bubbles. Say that 10 times fast. This was an outfit my mom made for me and I think I modeled it in a fashion show. I remember the turtle buttons.

Oh Grandpa, you're so much fun!!! (I love his face in this photo)

Reading with Daddy.

Andrew played Happy Birthday on the piano for me for my birthday. He's so sweet.

Grandpa Mickey!

We had fun playing with the Mickey ears we got at Disney World.

We had a lot of fun with these Mickey ears. The kids loved wearing them around the house.
Bailey took a photo of Grandpa.

My mom in my messy craft room working on some sewing project I gave her. I learn a lot from her.

While Mom and I were crafting, Dad was watching performance from Phantom of the Opera on YouTube. I love watching Dad. He gets so emotional and choked up. I am the same way.

Ready to go!

My Dad would leave goodies for Andrew around. This time he left a 2015 limited edition white Mustang Hot Wheels! Andrew was thrilled!!!

Thanks Grandpa!

Our family. (Not to scale). At least we all have hair. Hehe.

I don't remember what they were watching. I think it was NASCAR. Andrew loves watching the cars race around the track and I've known my dad to sit and watch quite a few races as well.

Explaining something important.

I loved watching these two bond. Dad was showing him videos of cars on YouTube.

Bailey got behind the camera and got a few photos of Grandma and Grandpa.

Self portrait.
Hope you had fun with us. More photos from May to come.

May 2014 - Adventures with Grandma and Grandpa

While we were off enjoying the sun and Mickey Mouse in Florida, my lovely parents bravely agreed to watch our kids. My parents love adventures and rarely back down from an opportunity to explore and learn something new. (This was something I wish I appreciated more growing up.)

I asked my mom about these photos. The majority of the rest of this post are her words.

...

Pic-nic in the San Jacinto Park before we went to tour the USS Texas (BB35). It was commissioned in early 1914 - 100 years ago and brought to the park in the late 40's. If you want more info go to http://www.history.navy.mil/danfs/t4/texas-ii.htm. Moto "Come On Texas". Donors and volunteers are hard at work restoring much of the ship.
The kids were so good and patient through all this. They were a little intimidated on the lower deck. Andrew asked lots of questions and Grandpa was excited to share information about big ships while Grandma was busy taking pictures. (He would be tempted to fly to Houston if there is ever a new ship commissioning there.)

This is the deep water channel entering Houston harbor. The kids were watching cargo ships and tankers come in and go out.

This is the Post Office on the USS Texas. Grandpa collect envelopes (covers) from ships which tell something about the history of the ship.  Andrew and Grandpa went to see this post office below deck while Grandma and Bailey went exploring topside.

Andrew and Bailey exploring the top deck of the USS Texas with Grandma. The shells on the wall behind them are for the 21  5" secondary guns. Much of the ship is being restored. The kids were real troopers climbing all over the ship where visitors were allowed.

The top photo is the forward gun turret on the USS Texas and the forward deck including anchor chains. (Lower photo) is the forward structure (forecastle) which includes gun directors location, tripod mass, bridge, forward structure and main batteries A&B.  The guns are 14".

My parents said they had a good time and my children returned with a new experience. Thanks Mom and Dad for taking some new little explores on an adventure.
