June 2012 - Kids update & Video.

June 2012

Bailey - 15 months

6/15 – Bailey likes to open and shut doors and Ryan was standing in the way and she started saying, “beep beep beep beep” trying to get him to move out of his way.

Bailey loves birds. She looks outside for them and if she sees them she’ll get so super excited and say “Brr” “Brr!” and now “brrdee”

She also says, “moo” for moon and points to it and points to airplanes. But I’m not sure what she calls those yet. She loves being outside and finding things in the sky. She points to them and asks to “touch” them. I’m sorry Bailey, my arms are not that long.

She loves Mickey. She calls him “mimmy” and will carry around the stuffed toy we have and give him kisses.

6/16 – Bailey drew on the wall with colored pencils, twice. I guess I need to watch her more closely than we had to watch Andrew.

6/19/12 – Bailey found one of the books I made for them to read at church and I heard her saying, “jeju” I looked over and she’s pointing to a photo of Jesus and saying, “jeju”. Super cute.

Andrew - 3 years 9 months

Andrew surprised me when he asked for seconds of lima beans. And then he asked for thirds.

He tries to make Bailey laugh by saying, “oogly boogley!”

Andrew started playing the piano! We have a little toy piano and Ryan put the letters/notes on the keys for him to learn. Then he wrote down the notes to, “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” “Mary had a little Lamb” “Happy Birthday” and “Little John”. He is doing well! He is able to record his song on the piano and play it back for us. He gets so excited!

6/17/12-  Today Andrew was working in one of his workbooks and he announced that he was working on the blog. (maybe I’ve spent too much time working on it lately!)

6/18  - Bailey got stuck while on the bike and started to get upset and Andrew announced, “She freaking out!!!” and then later was working on something and had difficulities and said, “What the heck?!” Again, later I said, “I get so tired at this time each night” and Andrew just said “Yep”. Even later, Ryan said, “hello handsome” and Andrew said, “yep, hi.”

Andrew playing the piano. I'm proud of him for not giving up when he messes up.

Bailey and Mickey.

Dance, dance, dance. (I LOVE watching Bailey dance. It always makes me laugh.)

Just keep dancing.

Bailey and Andrew ride the bike together.

(Please forgive the screaming child in the background.) Bailey was watching a video of herself on the iPad and was waving to it and copying what she saw herself doing.

The End :)

June 2012 - One big post.

Not too much happened in June so this post will be short and sweet. My dad's birthday was June 5, and Ryan and celebrated our temple anniversary on June 25th.

At the end of June we went to New Braunfels with our friends, the Reads, for the weekend. We left on Friday June 29 after Ryan got home from work. We drove the 4 hours and arrived in New Braunfels late that night. Our friends arranged for all of us to stay in a cute little condo. The next morning we went to Schlitterbahn, a huge water park. If I remember correctly, it actually has 3 parks. We had so much fun going down the slides and relaxing on the lazy rivers. It reminded me of going to the water park by my house when I was a kid. Except this place was much bigger. It was fun to feel like a kid and just play in the water. We didn't bring our camera into the park, and failed to take many photos at the condo. When we weren't playing in our swim suits, we hung out and watched movies and played games. It was a nice mini vacation. The photos we did take of us didn't turn out that well so I'll just include this one that sums up our trip.

While playing the awesome game of hand and foot, we pulled out Oreos and Teddy Grahams for a snack. One of the Teddy bears was feeling brave and climbed up the stack of Oreos to the milk glass and started walking on the edge of the glass. He came across a slick spot and fell in the milk and the poor little fella couldn't swim! Good thing we had Fruit Loops handy for him to grab onto and save himself. (We had a lot of fun that weekend.)

Other than that, life carried on as normal in June.

Enjoy.

As you can see, there are two Mickey Mouse plush "toys" here. We also have a smaller Minnie Mouse not pictured, just in case you were curious. Anyway, we have "Big Mickey" and "Mickey". Bailey loves Mickey and will carry him around everywhere. In fact, she has him right now as I'm typing this post. She sings to him and dances with him. She puts him in chairs and gives him toys. She covers him with a blanket and goes "ni-nite" with him. We don't pull down Big Mickey much because he is a lot older. I'm not sure the story with Big Mickey. All I know is that Big Mickey belonged to my brother Davy. Then somehow I got it, then gave it back, but got it back again. (Sorry, side note: Bailey is dragging Mickey around by his feet. Now she's plopped down on top of him. Signs of affection.) So somehow I ended up with Big Mickey. I asked my mom about him and she said that Davy traded Mickey for her stuffed Buffalo and then that's how I got him. When I asked Davy where Mickey came from he said he thought my dad got it for him and that our brother, Danny, had it for a bit too. My dad said to ask my mom. I asked my mom again today and her response was, "Sarah, you're losing your marbles. You asked me this last week!" Well at least she's not losing her marbles because, sadly, I did in fact forget that I already asked her. So, the story of Mickey remains a mystery. If any siblings know the real story of Micky I'd love to know. Until then, we just love to play with all the Mickey's.

Bailey putting Mickey "ni-nite."

I love when the kids stop fighting and play together.

I'm not sure how this happened.

Andrew tried to help get apple out of Bailey's teeth. Strange, but sweet.

Andrew was looking at his map poster to to complete his map puzzle.

Bailey (like Ryan) loves rice. Too bad it's so messy.

Bailey learning how to use a spoon. Notice the spoon is vertical.

Like father, like son.

"Peeeza! Peeeza!!" Uh oh! Where did the pizza go? She was very concerned.  :)

May 2012 - Kid's update & video

Bailey - 1 year 2 months.

5/13 – Ryan and Andrew and I were kneeling for family prayer and Bailey walked around us and started tapping Andrew on the head saying “daaa” “daaa” (duck duck goose)

Bailey started lifting up her dress to play with her belly button and suck her thumb on the other hand. It’s cute until we go to church and she lifts up her dress to find her belly button. Oh well.

Started saying thank you, “date due” and birdie "bdee"

Bailey will bring you your shoes, say “shu!” and wait for you to put it on. If you don’t put it on as quickly as she likes, she will grab your foot and try to put your foot in the shoe for you.

Andrew - 3 years 8 months.

Andrew made me a sign that said Happy Birthday to you Mommy. Each letter was on a separate paper. Then he made me two cards and made a picture that had a cake and balloons on it. Very sweet.

Andrew graduated from preschool. We had a little "graduation" for him and his buddies. He really enjoyed preschool.

Andrew says “actually” when he means “accidentally”. I actually stepped on your foot.

Bailey plays Peek-A-Boo!

Bailey and her shoes.

It was one of those days where my maternal instinct said, "it's too quiet." I went on search for Bailey and found her in Andrew's room. She was quietly playing with Andrew's cars. Andrew's cars are special to him and he doesn't share easily so when Bailey found an opportunity to play with them she must have known to stay quiet so Andrew wouldn't find her.

Bailey loves looking for birdies. "b-dee"

Another Peek-A-Boo.

May 2012 - Sarah's Birthday

Happy birthday to me! I turned 28 on Monday, May 14th. Of course I had to take some morning photos.

While Ryan's mom was in town she helped Andrew make some special things for me. He made me birthday cards and a lovely banner. Each paper had a letter on it that spelled:

Happy Birthday...

to you

Mommy

He wrote each letter himself. Ryan taped up the papers before I woke up on my birthday. Andrew also drew this. There are balloons, a cake with candles (all the way around the cake - I'm not that old!) and presents. We still have his (just this one) artwork hanging up in our living room

My dear friend, Rose offered to watch the kids for me so I could have some "me" time. I went shopping and had a very enjoyable morning. The kids and I met up with Ryan at Jason's Deli for lunch and then came home. Our friends, the Dyers and the Reads came over for dessert (yummy blueberry bread and apple pie!) and we watched a movie. It was a pretty calm yet very enjoyable day. I felt loved (and only a little bit older).

The end :)
