February 2016 - Fun in the Sun

The weather is perfectly nice in February so we spend as much time as we can outside. Bailey gets out of school about an hour before Andrew does so we head over to this park often to wait for Andrew. This park has a big grassy field, picnic tables and a stage area. The kids enjoy this park because it's also right by a lake so ducks and squirrels can be found there. I packed up some snacks and the three of us spent some fun in the sun.

I love many things about Houston. One of the few things I don't love is the grass. Because of the fire ants we don't let the kids play on the grass at parks, but in February it's not usually warm enough for the ants to come out. Megan hadn't really felt grass before. That makes me really sad and miss California. The grass is also usually scratchy and hard, not soft like in California.

Checking it out.

Our friends gave us this sun hat and it's perfect for these sunny days.

 Me and my girls.

One day we walked to the park in our neighborhood and noticed they had soft grass there! The kids got excited and had to test it out.

Teaching Megan that grass is fun!
Megan isn't so sure about this grass.

Megan doing some awesome ab work trying to avoid touching the grass.

We appreciate the good "winter" weather in Houston and wished it lasted longer.

The end.
