Exciting News!

So I have some exciting news. Our neighborhood has a swim team not far from our house. They had sign ups last weekend and Ryan dropped me off to talk to them. I just wanted to volunteer and get back into coaching or at least help out at meets. I meet the head coach for the 11 and up age group and found out that his assistant coach is in college until about May 6th. I told them I would love to help and they were excited to have an extra person on deck (so the head coach wouldn't be by himself). The coach I'll be working with is really nice and seems excited to work with me. He's even told me about teams that are looking to hire a coach, which is really nice because he's never even seen me coach before. I'm going to be helping out for a couple weeks until the assistant coach comes back from college. I'm not sure what will happen after that. The coach said we can try to work something out to keep me involved. I also met with a board member (I think) and he was the one who suggested I help out Coach Chris. I am so excited. The board member, Charlie, said if we like you and you like us, maybe I could work there next summer because the assistant coach to Chris is graduating college and may not come back. I'm not looking for a job, but I want to stay connected to the pool, the water, and the competition! Oh, I'm getting so excited just typing this.

The pool is only a five minute walk away. So perfect. I'll walk there with Andrew and Ryan will come by on his way home from work to pick up Andrew. Practice goes from 5-8:45 (3 groups) so Ryan will have to put Andrew down and eat without me. This will only last a couple weeks, but still it's hard. I'm grateful Ryan knows how much this means to me and he's willing to do this for me. Another reason I don't want to do it all season, although practice time will change I'm sure when school is out. Then it may be easier.

Anyway. I'm so excited and will keep you posted. Horray for swimming!!!

I know how much you love swimming. You will do so great and it will really make you so happy. No worries - Andrew will be in great hands and get a little father-son bonding time. :-)
