March 2012 - Kids update & Video

 Bailey (1 year)

Bailey's 1 year stats:
March 21, 2012
Weight: 20lb 3.5oz (30%)
Height: 29 3/4in (75%)
Head: 18cm (70%)

Bailey's update was included in her one year birthday post.

Andrew (3 and a half)

Andrew was looking out the window as we were driving and said something like, “look the moon came out and is bright” I said, “that’s not the moon, that’s the sun”. We went back and forth for a minute and then I said, “the moon doesn’t light up like the sun, the moon is like a big rock”. Andrew thought about it for a moment and said, “I like big rocks!”

3/18 – Ryan was doing learning time with Andrew and spelling words on the white board for Andrew to read. Ryan wrote the word “tile”. He told Andrew the “I” is a long vowel so it says it own name and the “e” is silent. (Andrew knows what both of that means). Andrew replied, “why don’t they spell it “til” and have no “e” since it’s silent? Good question my son. We'll explain when you're older than 3. Geeze.

Andrew enjoys playing the interactive games on the Xbox Kinect as much as we do. In this video, he is playing a game where he needs to avoid obstacles. He needs to move left, right and jump up and duck to avoid the "bonking" sound :) He really likes this one and it is active and fun to watch. He didn't know Ryan was videoing which is why he is quiet on the video.

We have a very long hallway in our house that goes from our front door all the way to the back wall. The kids love to play up and down this hallway. Andrew and Bailey had been running up and down for a while and of course Andrew always wins. Bailey and Andrew would start at the couch (where we are videoing from) and run to the front door and back. They would leave at the same time and Bailey would go about a third of the way and turn around and come back because by then, Andrew had already touched the front door and was on his way back. It was so adorable to watch and I have it on video, but for some reason I couldn't upload it to blogger. This is another video where Andrew is trying to help Bailey make it all the way to the front door.

Andrew plays hide and seek with a tricky Daddy.

Andrew reads "Green Eggs and Ham" by himself.

Andrew and Bailey play. (Yes, we did go organize after this)

Bailey is our fearless and tough child. I think I know how she learned to be that way...

Playing like this only adds to Bailey's tough attitude.

The End :)
