On July 9, 2014 we got our best outfits on and went to an 80's dance. It was so much fun! There also happened to be a lip sync contest to 80's music. A friend asked me last minute to compete and I am not sure why I agreed. It was quite possibly one of the most embarrassing moments of my life, but at least I looked good lip singing and dancing to Michael Jackson.
The rest of June was about the same as usual. The kids were silly and we love every minute.
Patiently waiting at the dentist.
Belly Buttons!!!
This is how the kids "put the toilet paper away" (At least we never have to worry about running out while in the bathroom)
Still recovering from the bang incident, but we love her just the same.
Play time with friends.
Andrew got a black berry bush to plant and take care of. He was very proud of this large black berry.
Peek-a-boo!
We will often find Andrew sitting quietly working on his workbooks. He loves learning. He really likes workbooks and does them all on his own. I think this is a first grade or second grade workbook.
The drive to Denver was uneventful, which means safe and long. We stayed with friends in Denver for a couple days before coming back to Houston. While we were there we enjoyed the beautiful weather and lovely parks.
My original plan was to stop in Kansas for the night, but I decided to keep going. I drove for 19 hours straight and made it back home on Sunday morning. I got home, showered and dressed for church. It made 2 long days into one really long day, but I was happy to be home. 3377.9 miles and a lot of bugs on the van later. We survived!!!!
Rose is the most generous and gracious host. I am so lucky to have such an amazing friend.
The kids had so much fun reading at night and having sleep overs together.
I love this photo of Lily.
When my kids weren't having sleep overs they were sleeping in the secret space under my bed. I tucked a blanket under the mattress that draped down so the kids had their own secret tent.
Bailey wanted to sleep on these little stools one night. Then changed her mind when their dog, Kami, came over to give her kisses.
This is the lovely view of the mountains from Rose's front door.
Rose had the landscapers working on their yard the week we were there. Camden loved it!
The kids flew kites in the backyard and dug in the dirt.
The kids spent so much time together and never got sick of each other. They could play with any other child without problem. It was lovely to see how well they played.
Cutie!
We had some fun movie time!
Bailey and Evalyn played well together. Evalyn would copy Bailey and it was absolutely adorable.
Bailey and Evalyn were so cute during scripture study. Evalyn was copying Bailey and it was so cute that we just couldn't get mad at them.
The kitchen is the heart of the home. We sure did have many fun times in the kitchen.
Making s'mores. Bailey couldn't see and was obviously upset. Aunt Rosie of course fixed the situation.
Rose and I get into these crazy laughing fits where everything is funny and we laugh until we cry. Literally. I was flicking my tears at her at the beginning of this video. It's a pointless video but thought I'd share what happens when the two of us get together. It's hard to understand what we're saying. It was really late and I was so tired from driving 3 days that I was super crazy. Rose was about the same way. I was laughing because the way she was holding her phone for the video. Silly Rosie. Sometimes we just look at each other and laugh. That's true friendship.
