December 2015 - Polar Express!

On December 23, 2015 we headed out to Palestine Texas to the Texas State Railroad to ride the Polar Express. The drive was just under 3 hours and the kids did pretty well. The weather was warm for December, in the 70's. Not ideal for a snowy Christmas activity, but the kids didn't seem to notice.

This was our train car.

All aboard!

Each table had nice ceramic mugs for hot coco and a big chocolate chip cookie. There was a bag to carry home our mugs too.

 Beautiful Bailey.

The warm day and sun helped warm the cookies so they were soft and gooey to eat.

The kids got a golden ticket and the conductor came by and punched each and every one.

Andrew is looking for the first signs of the North Pole.

I see it!

Waiting for Santa to come on the train.

Megan got her first gift of Christmas, a silver bell.

The kids had a great time on the Polar Express!
After we got off the train the kids wanted to play in the huge pile of leaves. Since this is the closest we can get to something like snow, the kids would grab handfuls and throw it up in the air and dance around. Andrew lost his special silver bell in the huge pile of leaves. He ran up to an elf and asked for a new one. (***I missed a huge opportunity here!)

Merry Christmas!!!!
