Andrew joined the basketball team that played at his school. There were multiple teams for each grade and they played against other local teams. Kids from other schools could join the teams too so it was fun to see so many teams and kids. This was Andrew's first real time learning basketball. Their team practiced after school once a week on Mondays. Unfortunately, in January and February there are a few school holidays that fall on Mondays so Andrew had 3 less practices than teams that practiced on other days. Ryan took Andrew out a few times to get more practice in, but their team really needed those days to learn. It was the first time most the kids on his team played - or even attempted dribbling. His games were on Saturdays and we all came to cheer him on. He wore an orange shirt under his jersey so we could see him easier. Each player had a colored arm band on that matched a player on the other team. That helped them learn who to defend.
Andrew's cheerleaders. Go Andrew go!
The End.
