August 2012 - Flight to Cali

On July 31, Andrew, Bailey and I took off to California for a few weeks. Ryan had to work a bit longer, but he joins up with us later. I always get so nervous before I fly, especially when I'm flying with the kids alone. Bailey is at an age where she wants to do her own thing and she has a hard time sitting still for any period of time. I get so worried that I start to feel sick.

Andrew reaches for Baileys hand as we drive to the airport.

I buy the early bird pass so I can board early. This gives me time to not only find the best seat, but to relax a bit before we take off. When we got in the plane and the flight attendant was standing in the first row. I asked if it was reserved and she said no. No! We snagged those seats up so fast! We only had two seats so I sat the kids down and stood up in front of the isle seat. I was praying that there was one empty seat on the plane. Please let me have it! It's always the stragglers that stress me out. After most people get on, I look around and the plane looks really full. I'm waiting those few moments until they tell us we're ready to leave. Those moments last forever! A flight attendant asked how man seats we had and my heart sank. By some miracle I had the only empty seat on the plan. Thank heavens!

I packed a ton of stuff for the kids to play with while we were flying. Andrew and Bailey loved their glasses

So, maybe the slap bracelets weren't the best idea.

Bailey was very entertained with the magazines.

They each had their own window and enjoyed looking out and seeing things from a new perspective. When we flew over the Sierra Mountains, I tried to explain that the white stuff that looked like vanilla yogurt was snow. My Texas kids don't know what snow is. :(

We survived and made it to California in one piece!

Way to go! Flights can be scary with kids! Sounds like a fun time though. Your little kiddos are sure cute!
